You can run Live Update from the Symantec System Center, or within Symantec Anti Virus.

To run Live Update from the Symantec System Center Console Scheduling Live Update You can schedule Live Update to run periodically, either from the Virus Definition Manager within the Symantec System Center, or by clicking File and then Schedule Updates from within Symantec Anti Virus.

You can also use a FTP script to obtain Rapid Release definitions, the most recent definitions available.
