If you have a profound sense of irony and humor, we welcome you. Julie blogs about her personal experience with leukemia and life from a patient’s perspective. She is a race walker, a dog lover, and a dedicated #bearcam watcher. I’m 32, I’m decent looking, I have a job I enjoy and family and friends I love.Since my group doesn’t meet for several more weeks, I delved into the world of on-line cancer support.

My motto is “go with the flow”…well, more specifically, my e-mail tagline is “When you come to a fork in the road, take it” (Yogi Berra). I ended up telling a guy over a text last night that I’m a two-time cancer survivor.

In my defense, he had asked me why I was still single if I’ve lived in this area my entire life.

I'll take the sweet..caring..giving..honest.sick Paul over the lying..cheating..cruel.man..anyday!! I doubt I'd put a past illness on my profile..although.would be something I would discuss very soon after e-mailing and probably before meeting with a man.I have done.

The type of man I meet aren't the type that would worry about such things.it is never the reason why things don't go further. I can't see any reason why someone in our age group would not date a cancer survivor. (from someone who HAS crossed that street) I would really have to evaluate the situation if it ever came up in my life again.

I am more concerned with how a man handles his current health. I won't even go into how he would go on and on and on and on about his nutrition regimen....

For survivors of cancer and other diseases, sex can be a difficult and painful thing.it's a joke, but the creator is all about a sense of humor, quoting Robert Anton Wilson on the front page: "Please pardon my levity, I don't see how to take death seriously. It seems absurd." From the press release: is profoundly different from other dating sites. He asked this in a teasing way, but when I read it, my heart sank.I told him I used to be shier than I am now, that I haven’t ever worked in an environment conducive to meeting single men, and then I put it all out there, the single most pertinent reason for my absence from the dating scene: I’m a two-time cancer survivor. We're dealing with people who know they are facing imminent death.
